01 Quotations and pricing
A quotation sets out the price for a defined scope of work: quantity, size, stock, colours, finish and, where applicable, delivery. The price is valid for that scope only. A change to any part of it — a heavier stock, a different finish, a larger run, an extra delivery point — changes the price, and we will requote before proceeding.
Unless we state otherwise on the document, a quotation is valid for 15 days. Material prices move, and we cannot hold a figure indefinitely.
02 Taxes and duties
Value Added Tax is charged at the prevailing U.A.E. rate on all applicable supplies and is shown separately on the invoice.
For cross-border orders, all import duties, customs clearance charges, port fees and any other government or private charges arising outside the U.A.E. are the responsibility of the client and are payable by the client, in addition to the invoiced amount.
03 Advance payment
Our standard terms are full payment in advance, before production begins. Every job we produce is custom-made to one client’s specification and has no resale value to anyone else, which is why the press does not start on account.
Where different terms have been agreed in writing with our team — a deposit and balance, or a payment period on an established account — those agreed terms apply and we will honour them. A good number of our clients are startups and small brands, and we will always try to find workable terms. What we ask is that they are agreed before the job starts, not after it has run.
Where a balance is outstanding, we reserve the right to withhold production, finishing or delivery until payment is received in full.
04 Late payment and delay
Late payment delays production. A job whose payment clears late re-enters the schedule at the point the payment arrives, not at the point the job was originally booked, and we accept no responsibility for a delivery date missed as a result.
Overdue accounts may be placed on hold, and any outstanding balance must be settled before further work is undertaken.
05 Title and risk
Goods remain the property of University Printing Press & Packaging LLC until they have been paid for in full. Risk passes to you on delivery, or on collection where you are collecting from our premises.
06 Invoicing and billing
Invoices are issued electronically by email, as a PDF or an image. A printed invoice is provided only where that has been agreed in advance.
Please check each invoice on receipt and raise any query with us within 7 days. It is the client’s responsibility to give us correct billing details — company name as licensed, TRN and address — before the invoice is issued. Reissuing an invoice after the fact is not always possible.
07 Payment disputes and chargebacks
If you have a concern about an invoice or a charge, contact us first. Nearly everything of this kind is settled in a single phone call, and we would much rather resolve it with you directly.
Raising a chargeback with your bank before contacting us may result in the cancellation of any active order and the suspension of further business with us. All costs, fees and charges arising from a chargeback are payable by the client.
08 Cancellations and refunds
How cancellations, reprints and refunds are handled is set out in our Order Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. Charges for additional design rounds are governed by our Revision Policy.
09 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Sharjah have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
